HighPoint Ministries |
This ministry was originated through prayerful seeking of the voice of God. I found that as we press closer to Him, we find His presence so complete. I remember on August 25, 1996 sitting in an easy chair in our living room and asking God to speak to me. He did! As we went through the ensuing days I began to hear His voice even clearer. To explain each step of the hearing and obeying will take the space of a book. I will attempt to share the walk in brief here. At first God let Me know His voice then His Guiding voice, then His direction began to take shape and hold true each and every time. One thing that I am sure of is that God is a 100% God. His direction in our lives is real and we are His children. Our Lord Jesus Christ has truly set us free by the great giving of eternal redemption by the shedding of His blood for us. We have a great commission, those who are called out by God to walk a special walk. What a special walk this has been. God blessed me with a wife, Frances, who hears and obeys His voice. Together we have been able to minister side by side. The anointing of God is so wonderful when the work is shared with your helpmate. Many times there has been such wonderful result because of the unity of purpose we are blessed with walking in. As the fall of 1996 evolved, we were blessed with hearing and obeying in sweet gentle ways and the doors kept opening to move forward. We went from wondering to seeing to yearning for more. In December, 1996 the Lord told me to come to Fort Mill, South Carolina. He was sending us to a place of Spiritual depth and there was much work to be done after a period of learning. He said "you will minister in My upper room". At the time I heard this I did not know the meaning but Praise Him, we listened. Upon arrival in Fort Mill we were blessed with staying at the Heritage USA property and found there the upper room. As we sought the council of God we knew we must leave the home we had in Pennsylvania and move here. His promise was that we would have a base off of the property of Heritage, but the calling was for greater purpose. We went back to Pennsylvania, gave away what we couldn't haul and moved. God Promised! I gave up the insurance business that the Lord had blessed me with and we have trusted Him from that day totally for all needs being met. The prayer ministry that we have been so very blessed with has been by His anointing and power only. Certainly there has been nothing of us to qualify the miracles that we have seen. For 5 months Frances and I went to the upper room in obedience and stayed there in obedience and prayed with those who came through the door in obedience. God Promised! As the days went by, we waited for the Promise to manifest. The Lord had said we would minister in His upper room and have authority to do so. For those first five months we were ministering unofficially. God's promise was authority. One afternoon, I received a telephone call from a man who identified himself as the vice president in charge of the operation at Heritage. He informed me that his boss had asked him to call me and inquire if I would be willing to take authority in the upper room. Hallelujah, the Promise. I had not requested in the natural any such thing, but it was God's Promise. He always is faithful. Starting on August 8, 1997, we ministered 6 days a week. What a glorious time. The miracle of God's healing touch. Many so many, finding or coming back to Him. The way God allowed us to minister and reach out was precious. His promise was fulfilled. We have learned that the walk we all take by the Spirit of God is a walk and a process. When the upper room closed due to the closing of Heritage USA in November of 1997, we entered a time of learning and seeking understanding. God opened the doors for us to reach out and minister in other fellowships and what a time we have had. As the mission statement, which was written for HighPoint Ministries in 1997 is read, the path is apparent for the ministry. We are to step out. As we walk closer toward the goals set by God we move at His pace and His way. The work is right and time is now. We are ready to take the next step. Harry Fenwick |
